Guns In America and The Menendez Call ~ Money Won

Finally numb.

44

I woke up and turned on the TV and thought the network had already put together a retrospective on past shootings. I did not recall any shooting in Ohio, but that didn’t mean much, I am not completely up on national news for more than 30 years back. But I looked again and the catch phrase was two shootings within 13 hours.

The gun thing is not ideology, it is money. People with bills that want to keep jobs with the NRA and in politics and board appointments. Enough! The propaganda that people have a right to have a gun and kill others is moronic – go read something else.

Keep your guns; I sure want one. I share, I donate and I volunteer and I will be the first to help in an emergency. But, not all want to share, some might demand to take and even harm. If the need arose – if emergency services failed during a disaster – do we all need protection? I think about being taken alive to be tormented – and I would rather not.

Folks will go on and on, saying this is not about the guns. And they are right. It is about ‘your’ boy and his friends and acquaintances stoking people’s fears about whatever is going that week.

I was finally disgusted after hearing how normal he sounded in the Menendez prank phone call, when he thought no one else was listening. That was the shift for me and there has been no turning back. Up until then, you could say oh right, I would never vote for him but for his critics – it is the locker room mouth, the white stick-it-anywhere power, the aging excitable hysteric – scared of conspiracies.

None of the above – we are simply had. He has blown smoke up our asses and he won.

I really wish we could use DNA testing across the board.

Are people killing their own and not knowing they are their own? Are people self hating and needing to prove themselves more white? more black? more, more…?

Did someone read that Scots are one of the most diverse groups genetically – (yes, I am pulling articles – 🙂 )

But this is like yelling fire in a crowded place. It is a disgrace to use this rhetoric to rile people. People might get hurt.

Crying, just crying.

The normal-sounding man in this phone call. So his rile-them-up persona is all to…

after the ads:

In the first minute they play a few seconds of the president talking to the prankster; then there is network commentary …

You can skip to the 2-minute mark where he is again asking about court picks; then at 3 minutes and 10 seconds, immigration issues …

Hearing him talk to “Menendez” was the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Totally business-like. Professional. I have said before, it seems such a shame to win the presidency and then throw it away. With the way his people, his voters love him, he could have told them it is time to come to the table. Time to unite the country and they would have followed him. Yes, he has followers.

The government knows we need to be careful about what we say.

The story does not end with the right wing, the rhetoric stokes both sides – all facets. The left is riled and the right is empowered and everybody in-between are just afraid. Like the words written in stone, written in Roger words. His beliefs seem to me to mean, all publicity is wanted, the good publicity is good, the bad publicity is great. Do they feel the same for peoples actions and reactions.
